> Create, edit and run browser and desktop automation macros with OCR, image recognition and real mouse and keyboard input.

- Listing: https://mcp.tc/i/ui-vision
- Connect: this is a local (stdio) server; install it on your machine (see Install). The listing link is a page, not an MCP endpoint.
- Type: local (stdio)
- Auth: no API key needed
- Category: [Browser Automation](https://mcp.tc/c/browser-automation)
- Vendor: A9T9
- Homepage: <https://ui.vision/mcp>
- Repository: <https://github.com/A9T9/RPA/tree/HEAD/mcp>
- Package: npm `uivision-mcp-bridge`

## About

Connects MCP clients such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Cursor to the Ui.Vision browser extension. An assistant can inspect a page, create or edit a macro, run it, and check the result using logs and screenshots. Macros can also use OCR and image recognition to automate things HTML selectors cannot reach.

Runs locally over stdio through the uivision-mcp-bridge npm package, which talks to the extension over a local WebSocket. The Ui.Vision extension must be installed and the MCP bridge enabled in its settings. Desktop automation needs the additional Ui.Vision desktop components (XModules). Node.js and npm are required.

## What it can do

- Inspect web pages from an assistant
- Create and edit reusable macros
- Run macros in your existing browser session
- Read logs and screenshots to debug failures
- Use OCR and image matching to locate on-screen items
- Automate desktop apps with mouse and keyboard input

## Example prompts

- "Use Ui.Vision to open example.com, read the page heading, and save a macro for it."
- "Run my login macro and tell me why it failed using the logs."
- "Create a macro that extracts the table on this page to a CSV file."
- "Find the Submit button by image and click it on the desktop app."

## Install

### Claude Code

1. Run this in a terminal, in your project folder:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport stdio ui-vision -- npx -y uivision-mcp-bridge
```

2. Start Claude Code and type `/mcp`. **ui-vision** should show as connected.

Add `--scope user` to make it available in every project.

### Claude Desktop

1. Open **Settings → Developer → Edit Config**. It opens `claude_desktop_config.json`. Add:

`claude_desktop_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ui-vision": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "uivision-mcp-bridge"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

2. Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.

Needs Node.js on your computer. The file lives in `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/` on macOS and `%APPDATA%\Claude\` on Windows.

### Cursor

[Add to Cursor](<https://cursor.com/install-mcp?name=ui-vision&config=eyJjb21tYW5kIjoibnB4IiwiYXJncyI6WyIteSIsInVpdmlzaW9uLW1jcC1icmlkZ2UiXX0%3D>) (opens Cursor)

Or add it by hand to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (all projects) or `.cursor/mcp.json` (this project):

`mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ui-vision": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "uivision-mcp-bridge"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

Needs Node.js on your computer.

### VS Code

[Install in VS Code](<https://vscode.dev/redirect/mcp/install?name=ui-vision&config=%7B%22type%22%3A%22stdio%22%2C%22command%22%3A%22npx%22%2C%22args%22%3A%5B%22-y%22%2C%22uivision-mcp-bridge%22%5D%7D>) (opens VS Code)

Or from a terminal:

```bash
code --add-mcp '{"name":"ui-vision","type":"stdio","command":"npx","args":["-y","uivision-mcp-bridge"]}'
```

Or commit it to the repo in `.vscode/mcp.json`:

`.vscode/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "ui-vision": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "uivision-mcp-bridge"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

Needs Node.js on your computer.

### Devin Desktop

1. Add it to `~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json` (macOS and Linux) or `%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json` (Windows):

`mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ui-vision": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "uivision-mcp-bridge"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

2. Refresh the MCP server list in Cascade.

Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf.

### Codex

```bash
codex mcp add ui-vision -- npx -y uivision-mcp-bridge
```

Or edit `~/.codex/config.toml` directly:

`config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.ui-vision]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "uivision-mcp-bridge"]
```

Needs Node.js on your computer.

### Gemini CLI

```bash
gemini mcp add ui-vision npx -- -y uivision-mcp-bridge
```

This adds it to the current project. Add `-s user` to use it everywhere.

### Any client

Most clients that start local servers accept this shape:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ui-vision": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "uivision-mcp-bridge"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

Zed puts servers under `context_servers` in its settings, with the same `command`, `args` and `env` fields.

Needs Node.js on your computer.
