- Type: remote (Streamable HTTP)
- Auth: none
- Category: [Developer Tools](https://mcp.tc/c/developer-tools)
- Vendor: DigestSEO (AKzar1el)
- Homepage: <https://digestseo.com/validator-mcp/>
- Repository: <https://github.com/AKzar1el/mcp-web-validator>
- Package: npm `mcp-web-validator`

## About

Validates HTML and CSS, checks on-page SEO and accessibility signals, parses JSON-LD for syntax errors and checks public links. It can audit one live public page, run a bounded sitemap-first audit of up to eight same-origin pages per call, or work on markup pasted into the conversation. All tools are read-only.

The hosted endpoint uses Streamable HTTP and needs no sign-in or API key. HTML validation sends markup to the Nu HTML Checker at validator.nu; CSS, SEO and JSON-LD checks run on the server. A local npm package (mcp-web-validator) also exists for stdio clients, with file validation and screenshots. Only submit pages you own or may inspect.

## What it can do

- Validate raw HTML through the Nu HTML Checker
- Parse CSS and report syntax errors
- Audit titles, meta tags, headings, alt text and Open Graph data
- Check JSON-LD blocks for JSON syntax errors
- Check up to 20 public links found in supplied HTML
- Audit one live public webpage by URL
- Run a sitemap-first audit of up to 8 pages per call
- Generate a combined validation report for supplied markup

## Tools (8)

- `validate_html`: Send supplied HTML to the Nu HTML Checker and return validation messages. (read-only)
- `validate_css`: Parse supplied CSS locally and return syntax messages. (read-only)
- `audit_seo_metadata`: Check supplied HTML for SEO and accessibility signals without fetching a page. (read-only)
- `validate_schema_markup`: Check JSON-LD blocks in supplied HTML for JSON syntax errors. (read-only)
- `check_broken_links`: Check up to 20 public HTTP(S) links found in supplied HTML. (read-only)
- `generate_validation_report`: Combine HTML, CSS, SEO, accessibility and JSON-LD checks for supplied markup. (read-only)
- `audit_public_webpage`: Fetch one public page and run HTML, SEO and JSON-LD checks on it. (read-only)
- `audit_public_site`: Audit up to 8 same-origin sitemap pages per call, respecting robots.txt. (read-only)

## Example prompts

- "Validate this HTML snippet and list the errors."
- "Audit https://example.com for SEO and accessibility issues."
- "Run a sitemap-based audit of my site and summarize the findings."
- "Check the JSON-LD in this page markup for syntax errors."

## Install

### Claude Code

1. Run this in a terminal, in your project folder:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http web-validator-by-digestseo https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp
```

2. Start Claude Code and type `/mcp`. **web-validator-by-digestseo** should show as connected.

Add `--scope user` to make it available in every project, not just this one.

### Claude Desktop

1. Open **Settings → Connectors** and click **Add custom connector**.

2. Name it **Web Validator by DigestSEO** and paste this URL:

```url
https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp
```

3. Click **Add**. Its tools appear in the chat’s tools menu.

Claude Desktop’s JSON config file only starts local servers. Remote servers go through Connectors, and connectors you add on claude.ai show up here too.

### claude.ai

1. Open the connector form on claude.ai. This button fills in the name and URL for you:

[Add to claude.ai](<https://claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector&connectorName=Web%20Validator%20by%20DigestSEO&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fweb-validator-mcp.digestseo.com%2Fmcp>) (opens connector settings)

2. Check that the URL reads `https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp` and click **Add**.

3. Turn it on in a chat from the tools menu.

Free plans allow one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it under **Organization settings → Connectors**.

### ChatGPT

1. On chatgpt.com, open **Settings → Security and login** and turn on **Developer mode**.

2. Go to `chatgpt.com/plugins` and click **+** to create an app for a remote MCP server.

3. Paste `https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp` as the server URL and choose **No authentication**.

Developer mode is available on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.

### Cursor

[Add to Cursor](<https://cursor.com/install-mcp?name=web-validator-by-digestseo&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3dlYi12YWxpZGF0b3ItbWNwLmRpZ2VzdHNlby5jb20vbWNwIn0%3D>) (opens Cursor)

Or add it by hand to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (all projects) or `.cursor/mcp.json` (this project):

`mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "web-validator-by-digestseo": {
      "url": "https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

[Install in VS Code](<https://vscode.dev/redirect/mcp/install?name=web-validator-by-digestseo&config=%7B%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fweb-validator-mcp.digestseo.com%2Fmcp%22%7D>) (opens VS Code)

Or from a terminal:

```bash
code --add-mcp '{"name":"web-validator-by-digestseo","type":"http","url":"https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"}'
```

Or commit it to the repo in `.vscode/mcp.json`:

`.vscode/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "web-validator-by-digestseo": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Devin Desktop

1. Add it to `~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json` (macOS and Linux) or `%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json` (Windows):

`mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "web-validator-by-digestseo": {
      "serverUrl": "https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

2. Refresh the MCP server list in Cascade.

Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf. It reads `serverUrl` (or `url`) for remote servers.

### Codex

```bash
codex mcp add web-validator-by-digestseo --url https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp
```

Or edit `~/.codex/config.toml` directly:

`config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.web-validator-by-digestseo]
url = "https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"
```

### Gemini CLI

```bash
gemini mcp add --transport http web-validator-by-digestseo https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp
```

This adds it to the current project. Add `-s user` to use it everywhere.

### Any client

Most clients accept this shape. Some name the URL field differently: `serverUrl` in Devin Desktop, `httpUrl` in Gemini CLI’s settings file.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "web-validator-by-digestseo": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Zed puts servers under `context_servers` in its settings. Cline needs `"type": "streamableHttp"`, or it assumes SSE.

Client only starts local servers? Bridge it with `npx -y mcp-remote https://web-validator-mcp.digestseo.com/mcp`.
