mcp.tc/i/agentic-hillisting.about
Agentic HIL lets a coding agent develop firmware on a physical board attached through a debug probe. It exposes bounded MCP tools for probing, flashing, resetting, artifact validation, serial and CAN stimulus and feedback, reports and logs, without giving the agent a raw debugger or host shell. Supported backends are OpenOCD and STM32CubeProgrammer for ST-Link, and pyOCD for CMSIS-DAP probes.
Every hardware action is checked against a per-project configuration stored outside the repository, run with timeouts, logged, and answered with a structured JSON result. It runs locally over stdio as the Python package agentic-hil (started with uvx) and needs a connected debug probe and board. No cloud account is required.
listing.can
- Flash firmware to a real board through a debug probe
- Reset the board and confirm a safe state
- Read and write UART serial data against the running firmware
- Send and receive CAN messages for stimulus and feedback
- Validate firmware artifacts before flashing
- Review structured reports and logs of each hardware run
- Restrict agent actions per device and per permission
listing.tools

listing.prompts
Flash the latest build to the Nucleo board and read the UART output.
Reset the board and check that it prints Hello World over serial.
Run my test plan against the board and show the report.
Send a CAN frame to the board and tell me how it responds.

Claude Code
- Run this in a terminal, in your project folder:
claude mcp add --transport stdio agentic-hil -- uvx agentic-hil- Start Claude Code and type
/mcp. agentic-hil should show as connected.
Add --scope user to make it available in every project.
Claude Desktop
- Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config. It opens
claude_desktop_config.json. Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentic-hil": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"agentic-hil"
]
}
}
}- Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.
Needs uv (Python) on your computer. The file lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/ on macOS and %APPDATA%\Claude\ on Windows.
Cursor
Or add it by hand to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (this project):
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentic-hil": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"agentic-hil"
]
}
}
}Needs uv (Python) on your computer.
VS Code
Install in VS Code a11y.new_tab
Or from a terminal:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"agentic-hil","type":"stdio","command":"uvx","args":["agentic-hil"]}'Or commit it to the repo in .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"agentic-hil": {
"type": "stdio",
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"agentic-hil"
]
}
}
}Needs uv (Python) on your computer.
Devin Desktop
- Add it to
~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json(macOS and Linux) or%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json(Windows):
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentic-hil": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"agentic-hil"
]
}
}
}- Refresh the MCP server list in Cascade.
Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf.
Codex
codex mcp add agentic-hil -- uvx agentic-hilOr edit ~/.codex/config.toml directly:
[mcp_servers.agentic-hil]
command = "uvx"
args = ["agentic-hil"]Needs uv (Python) on your computer.
Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add agentic-hil uvx agentic-hilThis adds it to the current project. Add -s user to use it everywhere.
Any client
Most clients that start local servers accept this shape:
{
"mcpServers": {
"agentic-hil": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": [
"agentic-hil"
]
}
}
}Zed puts servers under context_servers in its settings, with the same command, args and env fields.
Needs uv (Python) on your computer.
listing.faq
Can I paste mcp.tc/i/agentic-hil into my MCP client?
No. Agentic HIL runs on your own computer, started by your client, so it has no web address to connect to. The quick link is the page to share; the install command is uvx agentic-hil.
Does Agentic HIL need an API key?
No. It doesn't declare any keys or environment variables. It runs with your user account's permissions, so check what its tools can reach.
Is Agentic HIL a remote or a local server?
Local. Your client starts it as a process on your computer with uvx agentic-hil, which needs uv (Python).
What can Agentic HIL do?
You can flash firmware to a real board through a debug probe, reset the board and confirm a safe state and read and write UART serial data against the running firmware.
Which clients can use it?
Any client that starts local servers: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Devin Desktop, Codex, Gemini CLI, Zed and others. claude.ai and ChatGPT only connect to remote servers.
Who wrote this page?
mcp.tc's robot read Agentic HIL's public metadata (its package and repository pages), and an AI model drafted the text from it. A person reviews anything the checks can't confirm. The text can still be wrong, so if you spot a mistake, use Report this listing on this page.
