Browser Use is an open-source browser agent that controls a real Chrome browser. Through MCP, an assistant can hand it web tasks such as navigating pages, filling forms, extracting data and completing multi-step flows like bookings.
It runs locally over stdio with uvx (browser-use with the cli extra, started with the --mcp flag) and needs Python 3.11 or newer. The agent needs an LLM key such as OPENAI_API_KEY or ANTHROPIC_API_KEY. A hosted MCP endpoint is also available at https://api.browser-use.com/v3/mcp, authenticated with an x-browser-use-api-key header.

listing.faq
Can I paste mcp.tc/i/browser-use into my MCP client?
No. Browser Use runs on your own computer, started by your client, so it has no web address to connect to. The quick link is the page to share.
Does Browser Use need an API key?
Yes. It reads OPENAI_API_KEY from its environment, and OPENAI_API_KEY is a secret. Put the value in your client's config on your own machine, never in a shared file.
Is Browser Use a remote or a local server?
Local. Your client starts it as a process on your computer.
What can Browser Use do?
You can run browser tasks in a real Chrome browser from natural language, navigate sites and fill out forms and extract data from web pages.
Which clients can use it?
Any client that starts local servers: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Devin Desktop, Codex, Gemini CLI, Zed and others. claude.ai and ChatGPT only connect to remote servers.
Who wrote this page?
mcp.tc's robot read Browser Use's public metadata (its package and repository pages), and an AI model drafted the text from it. A person reviews anything the checks can't confirm. The text can still be wrong, so if you spot a mistake, use Report this listing on this page.
