listing.about

DBHub connects MCP clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle and SQLite. It exposes two tools by default, one for running SQL and one for searching schemas, tables, columns, indexes and procedures. Explain and health check tools are opt-in. Read-only mode, row limits and query timeouts guard against runaway queries, and SSH tunneling and SSL/TLS are supported.

It runs locally with npx over stdio, or over HTTP with the transport option. Docker, an MCP Bundle and a Claude Code plugin are also available. No sign-in is needed. You supply a database connection string (DSN) or a dbhub.toml file to connect several databases at once. Node.js 22.5 or newer is required.

listing.can

  • Run SQL queries with transaction support and safety controls
  • Search schemas, tables, columns, indexes and procedures
  • Show query execution plans without running them (opt-in)
  • Check connection pool state and cache hit ratio (opt-in)
  • Connect to several databases at once with a TOML config
  • Define reusable parameterized SQL tools in dbhub.toml
  • Use read-only mode, row limits and query timeouts
  • Reach databases through SSH tunnels and SSL/TLS

listing.faq

Can I paste mcp.tc/i/dbhub into my MCP client?

No. DBHub runs on your own computer, started by your client, so it has no web address to connect to. The quick link is the page to share.

Does DBHub need an API key?

Yes. It reads DSN, DB_PASSWORD, SSH_PASSWORD and SSH_PASSPHRASE from its environment, and DSN, DB_PASSWORD, SSH_PASSWORD and SSH_PASSPHRASE are secrets. Put the value in your client's config on your own machine, never in a shared file.

Is DBHub a remote or a local server?

Local. Your client starts it as a process on your computer.

What can DBHub do?

You can run SQL queries with transaction support and safety controls, search schemas, tables, columns, indexes and procedures and show query execution plans without running them (opt-in).

Which clients can use it?

Any client that starts local servers: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Devin Desktop, Codex, Gemini CLI, Zed and others. claude.ai and ChatGPT only connect to remote servers.

Who wrote this page?

mcp.tc's robot read DBHub's public metadata (its package and repository pages), and an AI model drafted the text from it. A person reviews anything the checks can't confirm. The text can still be wrong, so if you spot a mistake, use Report this listing on this page.
